We have had a busy week at Girls Inc! The Annual Meeting was last Wedneesday and we brought in a great group of new Board members, led by new President Victoria Waterman and including Dora and Akuah, the two young women who will be the youth representatives.
We honored outgoing Board President Joan Bertrand, and Board Members Marcy Supovitz and Mary Goretti. The program included the rededication of George I Alden Hall, our renovated auditorium. Deborah Penta inspired us with her reflections on mentors along our life journey.
We will conclude this week with a Strategic Planning retreat for Board and managers that will shape the next six years... to our Centennial.
The Worcester Senior Center has been a GREAT neighbor. Our boiler died just as the temps dropped and the snow started flying - and it is being replaced as I type! We have been running our afterschool programs there all week... except swimming which is fine because it runs off another boiler. Thanks to the Worcester Senior Center staff for all of their support!
Thanks to so many friends in Worcester who continue to support us as we INSPIRE ALL GIRLS TO BE STRONG, SMART AND BOLD!
