AiVi Nguyen is a business litigation attorney and a partner at the law firm of Bowditch & Dewey, LLP in Worcester. She became a partner when she was just 31 years-old, one of the youngest in Bowditch’s over 100 year history to ever be elected into the partnership. Raised in Worcester since infancy, and as a child of uneducated Vietnamese refugees living under the poverty line, AiVi faced many challenges in her rise to success to become who she is today – challenges related to race, gender, and socioeconomic status. AiVi’s professional accomplishments are impressive and she is a prominent business and community leader, despite her young age. She sits on many boards, including serving as Chair of the Board for the United Way of Central Massachusetts, the youngest person in the nearly century-old organization’s history to sit in the seat, as well as Vice Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council for the City of Worcester, which is tasked with working with the City Manager to examine and improve the diversity in the City’s employment. Undoubtedly, AiVi has earned her seat at the table, where she is often the only woman of color. She is committed to leveraging her influence and social capital to change the guest list, so that the faces at the table are representative of the Worcester community.
