Yesterday, we went to the stem lab and built CEV, or crew exploration vehicles. We split up into groups and used recyclable items to create CEV prototypes. Wer used an old Tide bottle and a few other plastic items on the outside. On the inside, we used cardboard as a main furniture source! To tell the truth, our group failed miserably! Well, not miserably, but it didn't quite turn out how we thought it would! For lunch we had pizza and cookies. Definetely better than a sandwich! Then someone came up with thwe idea of blowing up gloves as balloons! Of course, everyone had to make one! Then, came the idea of snowcones, styrofoam balls super glued to a paper cup dressed up with food coloring. Everyone's hands were stained blue, green and red after a few snow cones were created! But, aside from the fooling around, some of the CEVs came out great. We all had some great ideas. After the CEVs were created, we walked down the street to the UMASS medical center sign, and had our picture taken. It was HOT out, and the complaining didn't stop once! But it was fun!
