What a great week for Girls Inc and Worcester!!!
- Girls Inc and I were honored on Thursday morning, June 4 at the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce's Breakfast Club Salute at Mechanics Hall.
- The Worcester Tree Initiative hosted a tree planting clinic and tree give away in our parking lot this morning - over 75 trees found new homes, including three that they planted in front of our auditorium
- I was Mauro Des Pasquales' guest on Soapbox on WCCA TV on Wednesday night, June 3. (The show can be downloaded at www.wccatv.com) I have also been interviewed for the community programs with Jen Carter on WXLO and Mark Veau Oldies WORC - both of those shows air at 6AM on Sunday, so many of you may have missed them! I know I did!
- The City Manager's Pool Partnership is moving ahead as a very successful community collaboration - Girls Inc is proud to be a partner in this innovative program.
- We have RSVPs from over 140 guests for our CELEBRATING GIRLS EVENT this Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 here at Winthrop House. We will be honoring Linda Cavaioli and Jean King as the 2009 Advocates for Girls; the Fuller Foundation for their support of our aquatics program; and Jennifer Paradee for her beautiful new mural. WXLO will be broadcasting from here for the event. Mayor Konnie Lukes will be on hand to provide support and an official citation from the City of Worcester.
