“Our summer jobs program provides hundreds of young people across the state with an opportunity to challenge themselves, gain new skills, and make a difference in their own community,” Healey said. “We are pleased to be able to continue support cities, towns and nonprofits with this funding that keeps young people active and safe in the summer months and improves public health in Massachusetts.”

Strong, Smart, and Bold Mural
Thanks to a Creative Spark Grant from Greater Worcester Community Foundation, we hosted Alice Mizrachi to create a mural inspired by our mission of "empowering girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold." Alice worked with our girls to understand what Girls Inc. means to them and the girls created their own artistic interpretations fo the mission to inspire Alice. We love her creation!

Aileen advocates for comprehensive sex ed
Check out this feature from Girls Inc. National on Aileen Cahill from Worcester, who was recently awarded the Ann J. Prouty Community Leader Award for her advocacy and leadership on sex ed. in public schools and her school's UNICEF Club.
Aileen is a senior in Eureka!, graduating this Spring. She plans to major in Political Science and hopes to continue advocating for equity in education.

All were on hand Saturday to give girls at Girls Inc. of Worcester a nice surprise when they return from April break: cleaned classrooms, a reorganized library and a new playground courtesy of the seventh annual Build Day for Working for Worcester.
