At this year's Girls Celebration, Gifty received the Val S. Loring Girl of the Year Award for her hard work and perseverance in the Eureka! program. Gifty graduated this year from Abby Kelley Foster Charter School and will start at UMass Lowell in the fall as a Mechanical Engineering major.
Gifty was one of the speakers at this year's College Shower. About her experience with Girls Inc., Gifty said "I learned to always be willing to help anyone, no matter the circumstances and the major thing I learned was to never turn down an opportunity...The skills of leadership, determination, ambition, and hard work are all embedded in us."
