Thanks to over 160 individuals who attended the Girls Celebration Event on Thursday, May 10th, at the Blais Pavilion of the Lazare Research Building at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Girls Inc. recognized six successful women and girls for their demonstration of courage and perseverance, generosity and compassion, dedication and sincerity, and vision and leadership throughout their community.
Keynote speaker, D’Anne Hurd, Vice President for Business Development at Gateway Park, and University General Counsel at Worcester Polytechnic Institute shared her past experiences and commitments, inspiring all girls and women to accomplish their goals and dreams.
This years Girls Celebration raised over $17,000 to help support the after school and summer scholarship programs. Thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors, committee members, and committee chair, Lila Weihs for making this Girls Celebration Event 2007 a huge success!
