The recently dedicated Fuller Aquatics Center at Girls Inc on Providence Street will be a busy place this summer. A public-private partnership was formed with three other youth serving agencies (YMCA, YWCA, & Boys and Girls Club), community based youth serving organizations and the City of Worcester over the last few weeks to address some of the needs created when the decision was made to close the City pools this summer. Through the City Manager's office, Community Based Organizations will be able to coordinate swim times for their members through this program, with possible transportation available as well.
As a result, Girls Inc's pool will be open to children and families this summer as part of a much larger private and state pool and city and state beach schedule. Girls Inc members and families will be invited to swim in the extended hours as well. Final details on the program will be made available during the week of June 15. Stay tuned.
