UNUM Day FOR GIRLS Inc
Yesterday was UNUM day FOR GIRLS INC of Worcester. And what a day it was! We had not one, but two awesome experiences for our girls yesterday, thanks to UNUM.
Fifteen middle and high school girls (in our UNUM sponsored GALS program) participated in a day long Leadership Academy at UNUM, learning skills in resume preparation, public speaking and modeling/etiquette and style. strong, smART and bold
Today was a very creative day at Girls Inc of Worcester! The 25 girls who participated in the Presidents' Day program pitched in with two adult (Gina Fleury and Kofi Poku) and two teen volunteers (Yaa and Adwoa Poku) to create masterpiece murals that will be proudly displayed in the Winthrop House lobby for months to come.
The girls wore Women's Initiative t-shirts that came down to their ankles as smocks... they had as much paint on themselves as they did on the canvas... they worked together as a team to create the pictures... and I think you will agree that they did an AWESOME...
Girls in Sports - Kids in the Kitchen!! Lots Going On!
It may be cold outside, but at Girls Inc, things are really warm - in the kitchen and the gym!!
On Saturday, February 6, 75 girls ages 10-14 gathered at the YWCA to participate in Women and Girls In Sports Day, sponsored by the Investing in Girls Alliance. The atmosphere was wonderful and the schedule packed with programs to inspire girls to be STRONG! Tony Smith and several of our basketball league girls made a very interactive presentation!
