Retail store joins Girls Inc. in inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold!

As part of Eileen Fisher's mission to support the self-image of women and girls, 10% of the 25th Anniversary event proceeds will benefit Girls Inc.'s national organization and its 90 local affiliates, including Girls Inc. of Worcester.

Girls Incorporated of Worcester Offers New Extended Drop In Program

After two years of offering two afterschool program models, Girls Inc announced this week that it will provide extended Drop In Model for its afterschool programming. The Girls Inc Drop In Program runs from Monday to Friday, 2:00PM to 6:00PM at Winthrop House, 125 Providence Street on Vernon Hill.

A Day of Caring at Camp Kinneywood

What an awesome day - EIGHT GREAT volunteers from UNUM at Camp Kinneywood for painting the stairs and railings on the Pine Lodge and Rec Hall.... washing down all the picnic tables in the Pavillion and painting a few of the outside picnic tables too! Thanks to everyone for a wonderful day.

Local Nonprofit Receives Summer Miracle

Cathi Coridan, executive director of Girls Inc. in Worcester, is one very happy nonprofit executive. Coridan reported that despite the odds and the challenges it faced several months ago, the non-profit had an incredibly successful summer, awarding $27,000 in scholarships through donations, which funded 180 camp weeks for children in Worcester.

A Very Special Summer

It has been a VERY SPECIAL summer filled with wonderful experiences for the kids who have participated in our summer programs at Winthrop House and Camp Kinneywood - and for the Girls Inc staff and volunteers!

Let me start at the end and work back... a gathering of about 150 proud parents, families, staff and sponsors at Clark University on Friday night celebrated this year's Bruce Wells' Upward Bound scholars. TD Banknorth and the Worcester Tornados

TD Banknorth invited our GREAT new program manager, Kijah Clark and myself to attend the Worcester Tornadoes game (against the Quebec Capitales!) tonight. The evening started out with a picnic dinner and a visit from Twister the Tornadoes' cuddly mascot. We were able to spend time with several of the friendly TDBanknorth staff - getting to know them better and thanking them for their growing support of our economic literacy program!!! Theatre Under the Stars Presents Snoopy the musical

The Theatre Under the Stars program was first implemented in the summer of 2002 and was so well received that Girls Inc. has continued to incorporate it into the annual Camp Kinneywood summer program offerings. We believe that this theatre series is unique in that it offers the opportunity for families to interact in a positive way, while exploring areas of music, acting and performance that might not otherwise be available to them.

Girls Inc Loves Camp Reach

Girls Inc's computer Lab is getting a "Extreme Makeover - Camp Reach Edition!" Thirty young women entering seventh grade from across Central MA have been at Worcester Polytechnic Institute for Camp Reach, a two-week residential program for girls interested in pursuing a career in engineering. TEAM GIRLS INC "adopted" us and our project - to redesign our computer lab to make it more comfortable, welcoming, and an environment conducive to learning.
