Girls Inc of Worcester is taking the lead this year to celebrate Take Our Daughters to Work Day on Thursday, April 22, during spring vacation. The day will start with a breakfast at Girls Inc with WPS Superintendent, Dr. Melinda Boone speaking on 1 Youth, 1 Dream, Tomorrow's Leaders. For ninety-four years, Girls Incorporated of Worcester has provided a safe and enriching environment for thousands of children. During the summer months, Girls Inc. is committed to providing inner-city youth, who cannot afford the cost of summer camp, the opportunity to attend our quality programs offered at Camp Kinneywood, our 110-acre outdoor camp located in Worcester near the Holden Reservoir, and at Winthrop House, our in-town facility located at 125 Providence Street.
Leadership Conference
On Wednesday, February 17, 2010 the GALS had their first Leadership Conference at UNUM Insurance Company. Twelve GALS and four future GALS attended the conference. The conference consisted of interviewing skills, etiquette and presentation, resume preparation and executive panel, and a working lunch. The conference was a big success for all who attended.
