Cathi Coridan, executive director of Girls Inc. in Worcester, is one very happy nonprofit executive. Coridan reported that despite the odds and the challenges it faced several months ago, the non-profit had an incredibly successful summer, awarding $27,000 in scholarships through donations, which funded 180 camp weeks for children in Worcester.
It has been a VERY SPECIAL summer filled with wonderful experiences for the kids who have participated in our summer programs at Winthrop House and Camp Kinneywood - and for the Girls Inc staff and volunteers!

The Theatre Under the Stars program was first implemented in the summer of 2002 and was so well received that Girls Inc. has continued to incorporate it into the annual Camp Kinneywood summer program offerings. We believe that this theatre series is unique in that it offers the opportunity for families to interact in a positive way, while exploring areas of music, acting and performance that might not otherwise be available to them.

Girls Inc's computer Lab is getting a "Extreme Makeover - Camp Reach Edition!" Thirty young women entering seventh grade from across Central MA have been at Worcester Polytechnic Institute for Camp Reach, a two-week residential program for girls interested in pursuing a career in engineering. TEAM GIRLS INC "adopted" us and our project - to redesign our computer lab to make it more comfortable, welcoming, and an environment conducive to learning.
